This study comprehensively examines the integration of Industry 4.0 technologies into drying systems and the advantages that this integration provides. The application of cyber-physical systems (CPS), the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), big data analytics, and digital twin technologies to drying processes provides significant improvements in terms of energy efficiency, quality control, traceability, and sustainability. The study analyses the limitations of traditional drying methods and details how digital transformation overcomes these limitations. Application examples and sectoral experiences in Turkey are evaluated, and the challenges and benefits of digital transformation are presented from an objective perspective. Research results indicate that digital technologies provide energy savings of 15-30% in drying systems and improve product quality by 10-20%.
