The agricultural sector has reached a critical juncture in its historical development through the process of digitalization. Moving beyond traditional methods, digital agricultural practices are rapidly expanding with the integration of advanced technologies such as sensors, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, big data analytics, unmanned aerial vehicles, and autonomous land systems into production processes. These innovations facilitate real-time data collection, enable precise monitoring of environmental conditions, and support production decisions grounded in scientific analysis. Therefore, digitalization not only increases production efficiency and quality but also contributes to the sustainable use of natural resources. One of the most striking aspects of this transformation is the capacity to develop solutions for anticipated future food security challenges. Under the pressure of increasing populations and climate change, ensuring a predictable, traceable, and resilient agricultural structure has become a global strategic imperative. Digital agriculture enables both economic and environmental sustainability in production through precision farming practices and intelligent decision support systems. This study comprehensively examines the rise of digital agriculture and, in particular, discusses the impact of smart technologies on sustainable production. The findings show that digitalization in agricultural production will play a critical role not only in today's but also in future agricultural policies and strategies.
